Studio Ekonomi : UTC Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today launched the Center for Urban Transformation (UTC) at Pudu Sentral building, formerly known as Puduraya and now converted again into UTC Building Kuala Lumpur. Four-storey building, which is the country's second UTC to 39 government departments and private sector and development center and youth activities, local products, retail space and activity center non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Last June, he launched the first UTC in Jalan Hang Tuah, Malacca for 70 government agencies, private and non-governmental organizations that provide services to the public. UTC is a one-stop center introduced by the government to facilitate urban communities gain access to requirements provided by government agencies, private and non-governmental organizations under one roof through Urban Transformation Program. Under the UTC, the citizens can make various transactions such as payment of tithes, taxes, business identity cards as well as provide a place for recreation, such as 'Climbing Wall', Aerobics studio and futsal courts. In conjunction with the launch, the Prime Minister also launched the first 1Malaysia Book Store located on the first floor, of the building. More than 10,000 people thronged the premise Pudu Sentral to witness the launch of the UTC. Also present were Minister of Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin, Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah and Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Ahmad Phesal Talib. - Bernama
